The excuse must be submitted upon returning to school, or the absence will be classified as illegal.      

Here is a link for all the information concerning attendance policy, forms, and resources. After an absence, a student MUST provide a written or email excuse to the school office. The excuse must include the student’s full name, date(s) of absence(s), reason(s) for absence(s), the date(s) the excuse was written, and the signature of the parent or guardian. The excuse must be submitted upon returning to school, or the absence will be classified as illegal.

Children do better in school when their family takes an active role in their education.  There are many ways to look at Parent/Guardian Involvement, and at least six different categories of involvement have been encouraged by successful schools.  In the Highlands School District, parents/guardians are encouraged to become as active as possible including all these levels of involvement:
